Perpetual Light Memorial
Can we help our loved ones who have died? Is there anything that we can still do for them? Can our prayers make a difference?
The answer is, Yes. Pope Benedict said “It is never too late to touch the heart of another, nor is it ever in vain. The souls of the departed can receive “solace and refreshment” through the Eucharist and through our prayers and charitable deeds. This has been a fundamental conviction of Christianity throughout the ages and it remains a source of comfort today. “Who would not feel the need to convey to their departed loved ones a sign of kindness, a gesture of gratitude or even a request for pardon?”
We know that those who die in God’s grace and friendship are assured of eternal salvation in spite of their weakness. Yet we also know that after death, we must still undergo purification in order to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven. This purification can be lessened by our prayers and Masses.
The Perpetual Light Memorial holds a very special place, at the very center of our Monastery and the center of our hearts. It will honor those individuals who help us to continue our ministry. All we have to give is our prayer. We have established this Memorial for that purpose. We will honor those who help us in a significant way, with a donation of ten thousand dollars. We will light a perpetual candle and our Father Superior will offer one Mass a month along with our daily prayers for those who help us in this magnanimous way.
Benefits of Enrollment
♥ Once a loved one, yourself or your intention is enrolled, a gold plaque will be added to the Repository of Memories. This enrolled person or intention will be remembered in a monthly Mass celebrated by the Rector of the Monastery and daily by the Community.
♥ Benefactors are free to visit this Memorial any time during office hours. ♥ Benefactors and their families will be invited to the Monastery for a very special Mass, celebrated on All Soul’s Day (November 2) every year. After Mass Benefactors and their families will be invited to the Monastery refectory to join the Community for a Festive Breakfast in their honor.
Perpetual Memorial Endowment
For immediate tax relief and to establish a fund (that only the interest may be used by the Monastery), please consider our Endowment Fund. Your ten thousand dollar gift remains forever, as does your Memorial Candle. The interest gained from the Endowment Fund will be used to feed, clothe and shelter the priests and brothers. Therefore your gift will never diminish. It will care for those who will pray for you.
Perpetual Memorial Remembrance
The final way to support the work of the Monastery and its priests and brothers is to remember us in your Will. Place a codicil in your Will remembering the Monastery in the amount of ten thousand dollars or more. Simply inform us of this and we will light your candle or candles and began to pray for you, your loved ones or your intentions. We will engrave a golden plaque and place these names in our Repository of Memories. Please consider helping us in our work to remember the Memory of the Passion of Our Lord Jesus and remain in our Memory forever.
